As a consequence of the increase of tourists visits to the archeological
site of the Archeological Project “El Brujo” (The Sorcerer) link to The
Lady of Cao, the District of Magdalena de Cao has widely benefit,
effectively improving the quality of life of the communities whose
inhabitants now have the opportunity to offer services and goods like food,
handicrafts and others to the visitors. With the assistance of different
private and Government organizations important infrastructure and access
works has taken place, with a widely positive effect to local communities.
Raffo León, born in Lima in 1950, is graduated in Spanish language and literature from the Catholic University, and he is a journalist since the seventies. He is the host of Tiempo de Viaje ( Time to Travel) TV show. With this show León travels all over Peru searching to know about the life of communities and people deep in the Peruvian inland. He is editor of Peruvian art, tourism and culture books.
The recent discovery of The Lady of Cao
The lectures will present the story of the archeological discovery “Dama de Cao”, the first female ruler of the Mochica civilization (0-800 B.C.). This finding has a positive impact uplifting the living standards of nearby communities.

Conference on Rural Community Lifestyle
For more than a decade Peruvian native communities and other root organizations are generating initiatives and enterprises within “turismo rural/comunitario” or experimental tourism. Through this mechanisms the local communities strength, rescue and put in value their natural and cultural resources and offer them to the citizens of the world interested in the intercultural dialogue, who show respect for The Other and are minded to work together to find solutions to the world problems starting from the knowledge of the Andean Indian and Amazon people.
